How to Design Your Bench:
Step One: Length – How long would you like your bench to be? For a table with 4 legs, we recommend a bench 1 foot shorter so it can push in under the table. For a pedestal table, we recommend the bench the same length as the table. The bench will still push in under the table.
Step Two: Top Wood Type – What type of wood would you like your table top made out of? You can learn more about each wood option on our Finishes page.
Step Three: Bottom Wood Type – If you would like your bench all stained, then we recommend using the same type of wood for the base as you choose on the top. This will ensure that the grain and color are the same throughout the bench. If you want a painted base, then choose the painted option. All painted surfaces are made from pine or maple.
Step Four: Top Color – Choose the stain color that you would like for your bench seat. You can see examples of all stain colors on our Finishes page.
Step Five: Bottom Color – Choose the color that you would like for your bench base. For an all stained finish, we recommend using the same color for the top and bottom. If you want a custom color, then you may choose that option. After your order is placed, we will email you for details on your custom color choice.
Step Six: Finish Style – If your bench is painted, then you may choose from a solid, lightly distressed, distressed or weathered finish. If your bench base is stained, then you should only choose solid. You can see examples of all our finishing styles on our Finishes page.
Go to our Finishes Page to see samples of all your stain, paint and finish options. Have a custom color? No problem. When you place your order, choose “custom color” and we will email you for the information on the color you want.
